'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Leicester vs. Burnley: a Vital preview

We spoke to Phil of Vital Burnley, who gave the following responses to our questions ahead of Leicester City`s televised clash with the Clarets tomorrow afternoon:

1) On a scale of 1-10 (1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest), how would you rate your start to this season?

10 plus - Can it get any better? Nobody predicted our current lofty position at start of season that`s for sure!

2) Sean Dyche seems to be doing a great job at Turf Moor. Are the fans generally happy with his appointment?

The 'Ginger Mourinho` can do no wrong at the moment. We are a small squad but somehow he has got them all motivated and determined to succeed against all the odds. It will be a true test of his managerial skills though if we get injuries/suspensions in key areas where cover is low (e.g up front). God forbid after losing Austin we now lose Ings in the Jan window

3) Are there any players Foxes fans should keep an eye on?

We basically replaced Austin with a double-act and both Danny Ings and Sam Vokes are now scoring for fun. You might keep one quiet but two might be tricky!!

4) Where do you see Leicester finishing this season, and do you think Nigel Pearson is the man to lead the Foxes to the Premier League?

You seem to have had a wobble recently but I suspect you are going to be there or thereabouts come end of season. Let`s just both keep QPR out the frame and go up together!! Pearson seems to know what he`s doing

5) If you could sign one of our players, who would it be?

I always liked David Nugent and of course he had a spell at Turf Moor. Can we have him back please, we need another striker or two!!

6) Who do you think is our main threat?

Nugent always scores against us despite him going off the boil recently. Keep him quiet we might get a point at least.

7) Where do you think our main weakness lies?

I just wonder now after two defeats on the trot, whether you are hitting a bad patch. It looks like a test of your resilience and bouncebackability could be on the cards against the Clarets. If we get our noses in front, how would you react I wonder. Could that be your weakness in due course? Consistency?

8) And finally - what's your scoreline prediction for the game?

I fancy and would be extremely happy with at least a point. That could keep us top unless QPR can win at Blackpool 2-2 bring it on!!

Thanks to Phil for his comments ahead of the game - all the best for the remainder of the season.
No problem Simon! Game of two halves in the end! We were shocking in first, much better in second! Draw fair result methinks..just a pity QPR had to spoil it for both of us!
as a burnley fan, who's step dad supports the foxes, we both agreed no one had any bragging rights at the end of the game. both played patches of brilliance mixed with crap. Agree with TurfManPhil though, I hope we both get automatic promotion with QPOR losing their play off final!! happy xmas fox fans....
