Preview: Leicester vs Bristol City

Leicester chase down a seventh league win in eight when Bristol City visit the Walkers Stadium on Friday evening.

The Foxes have been in scintilating form of late, winning four in a row to propel them to within just a place of the Championship play-off positions.

City have been a rejuvenated outfit under Sven-Goran Eriksson, and are enjoying an 11-match unbeaten run at the Walkers Stadium as they continue their climb up the division table.

Meanwhile, visitors Bristol City have floundered after a mini-revival, winning only two of their last 11 league fixtures to leave them sitting nervously over the drop zone.

Their recent 4-0 demolition of bottom club Preston was a welcome boost for the struggling Robins, but manager Keith Millen knows his side must be at their best if they are to walk away from the Walkers with anything.

A win for the Robins would signal their first league double over the Foxes since 1915, while last season's win at the Walkers Stadium was City's first win in Leicester for 94 years.

Brett Pitman's strike sent Millen's men on their way to a 2-0 victory at Ashton Gate earlier in the season, but Sven-Goran Eriksson and his side will be looking to put that disappointment aside to place more pressure on the play-off hunters.

With Nottingham Forest hosting Cardiff and Norwich travelling to Leeds on Saturday, the opportunity is there for Eriksson's men to capitalise on lost points elsewhere.

And with a testing fixture at Cardiff on Tuesday evening, there has rarely been a better time to claim three points for the Foxes.

Leicester striker Yakubu: "The football has been great and you have to give credit to the manager for that. There's no pressure on any of us. He tells us to be patient and to enjoy the game, to pass the ball quickly but not be in a rush.

"If you look at the way we play - the determination is there, we play without pressure and we'll keep taking one game at a time so hopefully we'll be fine.

"When I came to Leicester I believed we could win promotion and now, there's a long way to go, but I still believe we can do it."

Bristol City manager Keith Millen: "This is a time when everyone who loves Bristol City has to stand together and be strong. It's been a very difficult year, both on and off the pitch, and we're not out of it yet.

"To blame the chairman and the manager is wrong, because that ignores the problems they have had to deal with.

"It's been one knock back after another and they have taken a toll. There has been disappointment with the stadium project, which has not gone as smoothly as we wanted, and there has been massive disruption on the football side of things."

Leicester have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the match.

Sven-Goran Eriksson is unlikely to change his starting lineup from last weekend's win over Derby, with Yuki Abe the only possible recall in place of Matt Oakley.

Four goals in his last three matches tells you enough. 13 goals this season in the Championship says even more.

While Yakubu may make the national headlines, King is the man who poses Leicester's greatest goal threat - from midfield. He's getting too good at being in the right place at the right time.

Keith Millen will not rush star striker Nicky Maynard back into action despite coming through unscathed in the Reserves.

Captain Louis Carey will be available for the clash, however, after scans revealed he had not broken his nose against Leeds.

Pitman has been on of the few performers in an otherwise dismal season, hitting nine league goals along the way.

Leicester will need no further introduction after his opening goal at Ashton Gate earlier in the season, and the Foxes backline will be keen to keep the former Bournemouth man quiet.

- Bristol City are unbeaten in four matches against Leicester.

- The Robins are yet to complete a league 'double' over any side this season.

- But the Foxes have won eight of their last 11 home matches.

- Bristol City have won only one of their last eight games in all competitions.
