City target Holloway resigns

Plymouth Argyle manager Ian Holloway has today resigned. He had been rumoured to be Mandaric's favoured candidate for the role of City boss and it now looks set that he will become the next City manager shortly.

The move comes days after both Plymouth's chairman and Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric denied reports a move was imminent.

Plymouth Argyle have confirmed that Holloway has tendered his resignation but have not as yet accepted it. They are due to wait until a meeting called for Friday before making further comment.

It had been speculated that Plymouth could be due somewhere in the region of £250,000 should City approach the Argyle boss.

Holloway has been at Plymouth for a little over one year having taken over in June 2006 following a spell at QPR. He was sent on gardening leave in February last year by the QPR board after constant rumours linking him to the vacant job at The Walkers, a post that then went to Rob Kelly.

Holloway however looks set to finally complete his move to The Walkers, with Mandaric rumoured to be happy to double his Plymouth salary.

If Holloway is appointed at City it will be the Bristolian's 4th manaherial position following on from a playing career featuring stints at QPR and his hometown Bristol Rovers.

Dont know much about him as a manager but got a lot of time for him as a man. Seems like a really funny down to earth guy.

I hope that he is a success, I am far happier with this appointment than the Megson one.

DeanoVilla all you need to know about him 'as a manager' is that he is full of himself, will bleed blue blood (after green,) if it pays well and will blame the Leicester fans, board or even the weather when things go pear shaped....your welcome to him!
