Although Leicester City have won most of their home clashes with Wolves over the years, recent results point strongly towards something else when the sides meet on Saturday.
Four of the last six Leicester-staged games between the clubs have finished level and the other two by the meanest 1-0 margin to City.
Soccerbase lists 102 games played between the clubs since 1906 with Wolves having won 39 to City's 33 and 30 draws.
But in Leicester, City have won 23 of the 49 encounters and Wolves only 12.
With Leicester's current form being suspect, one win and two draws in the last six, and Wolves away form producing two wins and three draws from six by comparison that doesn't offer City any comfort for Saturday's outcome.
Wolves are ninth in the table and their former England International midfield player Paul Ince has rallied his troops by declaring that every game in the push towards a play-off place is now a cup final.
City caretaker manager Rob Kelly has suggested the same for City's fight against relegation so there should be motivation in abundance.
Much will doubtless centre on how McCarthy copes with the threat of Wolves new signing Polish International Tomasz Frankowski who is set to make his full debut.
Our view: McCarthy faces the sort of challenge he relishes and if he helps keep honours even it will be an achievement.
One-all draw.
