'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Why have City missed 'The Post'

Our tongue-in-cheek story about the argument raging between Gretna and QPR over a centre-forward has a serious point - the striker concerned is no mug..

Twenty-one-year-old postman Peter Thompson has smashed 33 goals in 36 matches for Linfield who lead the Irish Premier League by a country mile.

Queens Park Rangers bid for Thompson on Friday and although the bid was rejected the two clubs remain in talks and a deal seems virtually certain anytime now.

But with City having been so short of goals where have they been all the time this fellow was wreaking havoc?

Right age, surely the right price, and a scoring rate to match a gigolo. See full story inside (Can City Tiptoe to Victory...).
