Leicester City Under 18's challenge for runner-up spot in the Premier Academy League stalled on Saturday when they could only manage a 0-0 home draw against Birmingham.
Furthermore emerging prospect Levi Porter was injured in what was described as 'an horrendously late challenge' just before time and it remains to be seen how long he'll be out.
The result left Leicester third in the table with 24 points from 16 games and with a game in hand on second placed Coventry.
Extraordinarily City have a goals difference of minus six, the worst in the League down to 10th place having scored 25 goals to 31 conceded.
City had their moments against Birmingham. Louis Dodds smashed home from 20 yards but the 'goal' was disallowed and Ricky Muggleton had a header tipped over the bar just on half-time.
Andy King was twice foiled by goalkeeping brilliance in the second half, first from a shot and then from a close-range header after the introduction of Eric Odihambo had given City greater urgency and attacking flair.
City team: Cisak, Magunda, Wykes, Tejan-Sie, Norval, Franklin, Rochester (Odihambo,64), King, Muggleton (Mackay,80), Dodds, Porter,(Smedley,87).
