Instant Reactions - Leicester v Stoke (24/2/18)

Following today's clash between Leicester City and Stoke City, here are the instant reactions from both managers.

Leicester City hosted Stoke City at the King Power Stadium for a 12.30pm kick off on Saturday February 24, with both sides playing out a score draw.

The visitors took the lead shortly before the half time break as Xherdan Shaqiri found the net but an uncharacteristic bit of ball handling from Jack Butland saw him credited with an own goal for the hosts with 20 minutes remaining.

Schmeichel, Simpson (Iheanacho 62), Morgan, Maguire, Chilwell, Ndidi, James, Mahrez, Gray (Diabate 61), Albrighton, Vardy.

Adrien Silva, Dragovic, Jakupovic, Iborra, Fuchs.

Butland, Bauer, Zouma, Martins Indi (Adam 74), Stafylidis, Cameron, Shaqiri, Allen, Ndiaye, Choupo-Moting (Johnson 84), Diouf (Campbell 64).

Pieters, Jese, Sobhi, Grant.

Speaking to the BBC's cameras a short time after match day referee Michael Oliver blew the final whistle, Leicester City manager Claude Paul explained.

'Not enough to win today. We could have, but we could also have lost - so perhaps a draw is fair. Their goalkeeper made some good saves, but we also conceded chances. I thought we started well, with intensity, but it became too slow to find space. It was better second half, but without a clinical edge or a little luck to find a winning goal.'

Stoke City manager Paul Lambert in his comparative interview explained.

On Shaqiri.

'I think as I've said before he's a real world class footballer, and he was unlucky with his vision in the second half. He makes things happen. Thankfully he's playing ever so well, which is great for us, but I couldn't fault the team in every department. I thought we were outstanding, we played ever so well. We had to weather the storm early on, and I thought we defended really strong as a team. We looked a threat on the counter, and performance-wise it was outstanding, and we maybe deserved to win the game, with some great chances.'

On 'the best goalkeeper in Britain' Butland.

'He will make mistakes and sometimes these things make you strong. I have no fear about Butland because he is a top goalkeeper.'
