A Well Balanced & Spirited Challenge For Puel

A Well Balanced & Spirited Challenge For Puel

Leicester City manager Claude Puel has said the side will face a 'well balanced' and 'spirited' Sheffield United side tonight in the FA Cup.

We host Chris Wilder's team at the King Power Stadium for a 7.45pm kick off in the fifth round of this season's FA Cup and the gaffer has confirmed we have more than done our homework on them, and we know what to expect given the type of side they are.

Having stormed to the League One title last season, Wilder's Blade's have more than adequately settled into life in the Championship with them sat just three points outside of the Play Off spots as they harbour hopes of back to back promotions into the top flight.

Speaking to as he met with the media to preview tonight's clash, Puel was full of praise what they have achieved in such a short period of time and he knew there was no way we could take them lightly.

'I think this team has good players. For example, this team played last season in League 1. They move on and now for the first season in the Championship they play perhaps to move on into the Premier League. They have this possibility. It`s a strong team and powerful with good attributes in the Championship. They are comfortable with the ball and have ability and spirit on the pitch to give their best.'

Puel added.

'I`m impressed that they are physical and powerful but also, they have quality and fighting spirit. They give their best in all situations. We need to be ready for this team.'

Having already faced the side this season back in the League Cup in August, we took a four one victory that day but Puel acknowledged that Sheffield United have come a long way since that early encounter so he's not expecting such a comprehensive win this time around.

'I think it`s important to watch the last game because the team improved along the season. For me, Sheffield United is not the same team since the summer and for us it`s the same. It`s important to watch the games against Aston Villa and Leeds for example. It was a strong game. It`s a team with good quality and fighting spirit. They have good players and play football also. It will be a tough game.'
