Time To Raise Our Game
Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has said the players need to raise their game when we face Manchester City this weekend.
Heading to the Etihad Stadium for Saturday's late kick off, Schmeichel knows that it's going to be incredibly tough task for the side given the quality City boast and in many ways they will be out to prove a point having been held to a draw by Burnley last weekend - as should we following the Swansea draw.
Speaking to lcfc.com as he met with the media ahead of the game, the Dane explained.
'We`re working hard this week. For us, I think Manchester City away is a tough game. It is for anyone, actually. I think it`s going to be difficult but we`ve had success at the Etihad before so at the end of the day, 11 men versus 11 men, you`re going to have to work harder and try and do something.'
Schmeichel went on to say.
'Well I think we`ve always got the threat on the counter and when we`re up against sides who have more possession than us, when we do win the ball back we`ve got a really good threat when we break. It`s going to be a tough ask, there`s no question about that, but we do seem to like these occasions.'
Despite knowing City's quality on the pitch, Schmeichel was adamant it was about focusing on ourselves and ensuring we carry out our game plan properly.
'I think you know most of the players there and I think it`s a dangerous kind of thing for a 'keeper to start studying too much the strikers. With the quality they have if you start anticipating what they might do, they`ve got enough quality to change their mind at the last second and do the opposite.'
