Slimani Future Decides Ulloa's Fate

Slimani Future Decides Ulloa's Fate

Following reports that Aston Villa were interested in a double loan for Leonardo Ulloa and Daniel Amartey, it appears Leicester City will wait until Islam Slimani's future is decided before sanctioning any deal.

The Leicester Mercury reported earlier today that Leicester were in no rush to answer any interest from Villa in the duo, and our priority is to work out what happens with Slimani.

With manager Claude Puel admitting he has too many options upfront and his desire to unload at least one player, our preference would be a permanent deal but Villa can only offer a loan arrangement owing to their position under Championship Financial Fair Play rules. Villa have however been linked with Ulloa for the last few windows.

The Mercury 'understand' that if we can do a permanent deal for Slimani and recoup most of our £30million outlay, Ulloa will be kept as an option - especially having signed a new deal last summer. If we can't recoup our money on Slimani, then Ulloa heading out for a spell to reduce numbers is then an option.

There is some speculation that our position might change however if, in any talks, there is a guaranteed buy option in place come the summer for Ulloa but that is pure speculation.

As for links to Amartey, that seems pie in the sky especially with Danny Simpson's injury.
