Shakespeare On Vardy & Mahrez
Manager Craig Shakespeare was also speaking about Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez following victory over Brighton yesterday.
Hosting the side at the King Power Stadium, Leicester took a two nil victory on the day with goals from Shinji Okazaki and Harry Maguire, but Vardy was substituted in stoppage time after taking a knock to his ankle.
Speaking to Sky Sports in is post game press conference, Shakespeare said he expected Vardy to be fine.
'I have just left ward ten in there with a few receiving treatment. I will go and see how he is shortly but, knowing Jamie, he will be fine. Jamie obviously had a few tussles today and has an ankle heavily strapped with an ice pack on it. He does have those battles but we wouldn't change him, would we?'
With a strong performance from Riyad Mahrez despite him still wanting a move, Shakespeare also had praise for him given his attitude and desire to still do Leicester proud whilst he wore our shirt.
'I've spoken about Riyad on many occasions in terms of his focus, his professionalism - and you saw today what he's capable of. While he remains focused and professional, he will always be considered for selection.'
There was also praise for Harry Maguire getting our second as he wants a goal threat from around the pitch.
'It's always pleasing when one of your centre halves pops up because we need to share the goals around. We've got into Wes and Harry about contributing on that front, and it was important that he got us that second goal today.'
