'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The plot thickens

Life is never boring as a Leicester City fan and that has certainly been the case this week. Firstly the sale of Gareth Williams to Watford on Wednesday left the City fans worried about the depth of the squad. However, by the end of the day City had added three loan signings in the form of Horsfield, Yeates and Glombard to cheer up those fans that were upset about losing Williams.

Then yesterday (Thursday) Andrew Taylor the chairman stepped down with immediate affect, as did Greg Clarke from the board of directors.

The resignations were met with mixed reactions from City fans. Some believed that Taylor and Clarke were opposed to the Mandaric takeover and by them stepping down it will mean the deal should be completed sooner rather then later. However, some fans felt that Taylor and Clarke were stepping down because the Mandaric deal had been unsuccessful and they felt it was a mistake.

As always the fans are left scratching their heads and wondering what is actually going on behind closed doors at the Walkers. The club did issue a statement saying that the two resignations have had no effect on the Mandaric deal and that the club were still in talks with Mandaric, but this seemed to be merely a hurried press release rather then the gospel truth.

Whatever is going on, the majority of City fans will be hoping that Mandaric will finally takeover in the next couple of weeks and it would be nice to see him at the game on Saturday supporting City. Especially if he is wearing a blue and white Pompey scarf, sorry I mean Leicester scarf.
