Kelly adds to squad

Rob Kelly made three loan signings yesterday to bolster his squad and cheer the Leicester fans up who were panicking after the sale of Gareth Williams to Watford.

Some City fans were worried that with all the outgoings City might be left short of players, especially in midfield. However, the signings of Geoff Horsfield, Mark Yeates and Luigi Glombard on loan will raise the spirit of most City fans.

Yeates joined City on loan until the end of the season and Glombard signed on a one-month deal, with the possibility of extending it until the end of the season. Both players are wingers and can be seen as direct replacements for Josh Low and Momo Sylla, who left Leicester at the beginning of January.

Although Kelly has added these two midfielders to the squad it still means that Leicester are missing a central midfielder to replace Williams. However, with Andy Johnson, James Wesoloski, Stephen Hughes and Danny Tiatto all fit, Kelly might believe that he has enough cover in the centre of the park.

The signing which seemed to cheer up the City fans up the most was Geoff Horsfield, who like Yeates has joined on loan until the end of the season. With Hume, Fryatt and Hammond all struggling for form, the signing of an experienced professional will take the pressure off the other strikers and also give City a target man up front.
