Maguire & Iborra Talk Austria
New signings Harry Maguire and Vincent Iborra have been speaking about their Leicester experience out in Austria this past week.
Having come in from Hull City, Maguire was speaking to lcfc.com first ahead of our departure back for England, and he felt that everybody had adapted well to the conditions of the Austrian climate and he felt the trip had been a good success as he looks to settle in with the players.
'My fitness is getting better each day. I wake up with tired legs every now and then but some days feel better than others. On Wednesday, we had a rest day and we`ve come out today and had a tough session. We`ve got another two sessions and then we leave Austria, then we`ll look forward to Hong Kong as we start playing games. It`s a pleasing start.'
Speaking more about the conditions, he went on to add.
'The more you train every day, you get used to the heat. The conditions are hard, especially when you`re doing tough sessions out here. You do get used to it and it`s good for your fitness, so you sweat it all out. It`s good and we`ll be looking forward to the English weather too, as we`ll have adapted well. In pre-season, you come in and worry about running and not seeing the balls, but it`s been great here. We`ve had the balls out since the first day and it`s been enjoyable. It`s been very tough but we`re getting fitter as a team.'
He ended by talking about how he feels he's beginning to settle in now and he credited his colleagues for the welcome he'd been given.
'The lads have welcomed me really well so I`m settling in. It`s tough with running and playing a lot of football, but I`m enjoying it. I`m looking forward to what it`s got to bring when the games come. It`s all about getting fit and ready for the first game of the season. Trips away are there so you see the lads 24 hours a day, so it`s good team bonding. You get to know the lads a lot better. After the trips, I`m sure I`ll get to know a lot more about them.'
As for fellow new arrival Iborra, in his own interview earlier in the week he said he was really looking forward to the start of the season now and he's been enjoying his time with us so far.
'I am enjoying my first days of pre-season because the atmosphere of the team in training, in concentration and the hotel is very positive. This is more important for training and preparing for the new season which will be difficult. The welcome has been very good. When I say before, the atmosphere is good and positive. The team-mates have helped me in the first days. For me, this is important because I like a good human group. For me, it is the most important thing.'
'For the moment, my adaptation is very good. It is a new experience with new team-mates and a new idea of football. I am working for my team-mates because, in a little time, I have learned the ideas and the philosophy of the coach and my new team-mates.'
