Swansea Set Sigurdsson Fee
It was being reported yesterday that Swansea City were holding out for £50million for Gylfi Sigurdsson after turning down a £40million offer from Leicester.
The BBC were one of many to report that we had made a £40million offer for the 27 year old but that had been knocked back.
Having scored nine times last season and helped himself to 13 assists as the Welsh club avoided relegation into the Championship, Sigurdsson has been a hot topic for speculation so far this summer with Everton also heavily linked with the Icelandic international and it seems that Everton's fee of £50million for Ross Barkley could be guiding Swansea's desire.
Sigurdsson does have three years left on his deal at the Liberty Stadium and it's believed he's very settled at the club following his move back to them in 2014 after a less than successful spell at Tottenham Hotspur, so whether Leicester will now go back with an improved offer or decide to move on remains to be seen.
If accurate, it was an interesting opening gambit from the club through.
