Duo On Atletico Madrid Hopes

Duo On Atletico Madrid Hopes

Yohan Benaloune and Andy King have both been speaking about second leg hopes in the Champions League quarter final tie with Atletico Madrid.

Losing the first leg one nil at the Vicente Calderon with Antoine Griezmann's first half penalty, Leicester know they can take a lot of confidence from our second leg battle with Sevilla in the last ground so it's all eyes to the King Power tie next Tuesday.

Speaking to lcfc.com in his own post game press conference, Benalouane explained that nobody in the dressing room believed our Semi Final hopes were over.

'The game is open. We lost 1-0 but we know at home it will be difficult for Atl├ętico. I hope we can play the same game against Sevilla. We prepare for the next game. The feeling was good because the team worked very well tonight. The important thing is that the second leg will be open. It is the work of the team, we work together. It`s not one player or two - it`s all the team. The whole team worked very well tonight and that is the most important thing. In Spain, the weather is different so it was difficult but I think we did a good job tonight.'

Andy King was also speaking post game and he felt that not only did we have a good chance of making the Semis for the first time in our history, he felt the positives we could take from the performance proved we had a good chance of progressing.

'We can take a lot of positives from it. We know we can overturn a deficit at home in the next leg and that was the main thing tonight - to make sure we`re still in it going into the home leg because we know we`re strong there. We knew that tonight was going to be a tough atmosphere. We know they`re good at home but so are we. We wanted to make sure the atmosphere next week definitely counts for something. The fans can get behind us like they always do and hopefully we can turn it around.'

King went on to add.

'They`re a top team, you don`t get to two of three finals without being that. They showed that again tonight but I thought we gave a good account of ourselves. For it to be 1-0 and a hard decision to give them that goal, we can take great credit from that.'

With Crystal Palace next up on Saturday, he ended by saying.

'There is still a lot of work to be done in the league. We`re in good form and we`ve got a lot of confidence. Palace are confident as well, it`ll be a good game but we need to make sure we`re ready.'
