Huth Pleased With Three West Ham Points

Huth Pleased With Three West Ham Points

Centre half Robert Huth has praised his Leicester colleagues for their efforts in the tie against West Ham United last Saturday.

Making the trip to the former Olympic Stadium to face off against Slaven Bilic's boys, Leicester took a three two victory to notch up our third straight Premier League victory and fourth win, Champions League included, overall.

Speaking to lcfc.com in his own post game press conference, Huth explained that having got our noses in front in the game he was confident we would see it through.

With Riyad Mahrez opening the scoring, Huth himself doubled our advantage and Jamie Vardy sealed the three points before the half time restart - although West Ham did make it a one goal game in the second period as they pushed hard - the German explained that everybody was delighted with our first league away win of the campaign and having taken victory in every game we have led, that is confidence boosting moving forward.

'Absolutely awesome. We were due an away win, so it`s good to come back with the three points. I always felt we just needed to get 1-0 up in a game. It happened against Liverpool. Since then, we`ve been getting 1-0 up and we haven`t been beaten. Long may it continue. It`s something we`ve done all season - once we go ahead, we don`t tend to lose games. It was something we wanted to achieve today and we managed it. We made it a bit harder at the end and we were hanging on a bit. Perhaps we could have wrapped the game up earlier, but we got there.'

Huth went on to say that he felt you could see efforts in recent weeks start to catch up on us late on in the game, so the international break is now well timed for people to recharge their batteries for the matches ahead.

'I think we were a bit tired at the end and we were hanging on a bit, but we managed to get a 2-0 lead early-on, which set us up for the game. The next game, which is the most important, is Stoke after a two-week break. Hopefully now we can recharge the batteries, then go again.'
