Wednesday saw City fans once again bemoaning the teams look after just losing out to Premiership opposition. Twice this season against Aston Villa in the League Cup and Fulham in the FA Cup, Leicester have played quality football which has pushed two established Premiership teams all the way, only for the team to fall at the last hurdle.
Although these defeats have left City fans encouraged by the fact that the current squad isn`t far away from competing with Premiership teams, it still leaves the question why can`t Leicester play like it every week?
In their league campaign there have been several games in which the players have failed to show any kind of form which could give City fans hope. Whether this problem is down to the players or the manager is still to be made clear.
Although Leicester fans realise that the team cannot win every game, they still expect to see the players put in 100% for every game. The players seemed capable of doing this in the two cup games but have struggled in certain games this season. If the team had showed the same kind of commitment and desire in the league as they did in the cup then City would be a lot higher up the table.
With Milan Mandaric poised to take over, one of his first jobs might be to make a decision on whether Rob Kelly is the right manager for Leicester? Can Kelly motivate the players to put in 100% for every league game rather then just the cup ties against Premiership opposition?
