Leo Ulloa Requests Leicester Move?
There have been some rumblings recently suggesting that manager Nigel Pearson was very interested in signing Brighton forward Leo Ulloa.
Details were pretty thin on the ground really and it was more a case of Chinese whispers from what I can tell, and I assumed based on the fact that Brighton had failed twice to secure promotion from the Play Offs, and with Ulloa being in good form for them it obviously seemed to make sense to link him to us following our promotion and response to failing in the Play Offs.
However today/yesterday it's being reported that Leicester have already made the first move in trying to prove this speculation true by tabling a £7million bid for the 27 year old.
This has been rejected by Brighton, and their new manager Sami Hyypia is intent on keeping the striker at the club, given he has socred 26 goals in 58 appearances for them since joining them in January 2013.
However the press say that having returned from holiday in Argentina this week, the player will be sourcing talks with their new gaffer where he will explain that he wants top flight football and would like Brighton to consider Leicester's interest.
The papers also say that although Ulloa's 'resolve has hardened' after considering his options, he won't hold Brighton to ransom here or throw his toys out of the pram, and he'd rather everything was handled respectfully - but I have to question if he's been in Argentina how would anybody know what's on his mind?
Ulloa it appears is back in training though as the Brighton squad have returned already, and there is certainly no 'real' confirmation of any of this.
He obviously knows where the goal is, works hard and would be a different option for us up front, but if Leicester have made an offer, with the summer changes, you'd have thought Brighton would've announced it had been rejected given the speculated fee to show their fans they wanted another crack at promotion and weren't cashing in?
