Bakayogo Ruptures His ACL

Bakayogo Ruptures His ACL

Left back Zoumana Bakayogo has returned to Leicester after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in his debut for Yeovil Town last weekend.

The player seemed to catch his studs in the ground during their game with Birmingham City on Saturday, and there was some confusion at the point because there wasn't another player near him. Unfortunately following investigations into what the injury he sustained was, it was discovered that he had ruptured his ACL and he is now set for a very lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Yeovil manager Gary Johnson said.

'Zoumana said he just felt his knee crumble under him. It was innocuous, he just turned and felt it.'

It's a big blow Bakayogo who would've been hoping to get some good football under his belt whilst out loan, but unfortunately the injury meant he was substituted after only 37 minutes of his debut, and he had only been with them for a couple of days.

No timescale has yet been put on Bakayogo's return, but I'd imagine this injury has brought his season to an end, and the usual time frame can be anything from six to nine months out.
