'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Perfect Late Christmas Present For Pearson

Following on from the win over QPR, Leicester backed it up perfectly to put us top of the league with a one nil victory over Reading.

The goal came courtesy of a first half penalty from David Nugent and it was enough to ensure the return of another three points and put the club two points clear at the top of the Championship.

Speaking to lcfc.com following the game, Pearson was obviously pleased with the day's showing and called it one of our better performances all season.

'It was one of our better performances and in the first half in particular, the standard of football was excellent. It's just good to get a win on Boxing Day after getting such a good result at QPR and now we've backed it up.'

One particular pleasure for Pearson was again the performance after a few dips of late, and he was pleased to see that our standards have risen again and he admits it's easy to rue dropped points elsewhere, but what's important is that the team make up for those when the opportunity arises and they are doing that and he feels our current position is more than justified given the season so far - of course it's back to maintaining it now.

Another clean sheet isn't to be sniffed at as well and hopefully we can build on this again when we face Bolton and have three wins on the bounce.
