Vardy & Kasp Respond To Millwall Victory

Vardy & Kasp Respond To Millwall Victory

Striker Jamie Vardy and goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel have both given their thoughts following the victory over Millwall last weekend.

Speaking firstly to lcfc.com two goal hero Jamie Vardy gave his thoughts on the game, and even joked that given the pace of some of our counter attacks on the day, even he was struggling to keep up with them.

'Our counter attacking is so quick it's unbelievable. Some of them I couldn't keep up with. It does make it an advantage for us having the counter, and one of the goals we scored came from that.'

Vardy goes on to say that we knew it would be a tough game, but the whole team worked very hard over the 90 minutes and we more than deserved the victory in the end.

However, as seems to be the message from everyone, he reiterated that the players couldn't allow themselves to get carried away with our league position because there is still so much football to be played and if we allow ourselves to be complacent we will undo the good work we have done so far.

As for Kasper Schmeichel, he talked mainly about our defensive solidarity this season and he was thrilled to see Leicester keep another clean sheet, and he wasn't too upset about the assists either.

'We were very solid, I think the whole back four did very well. They were helped by the midfield as well. We've got great options and I think that some of the lads that have missed out are extremely unlucky. Every player is performing well.'

The key for Schmeichel now as well is that we maintain this and continue to build on what has a been a good start, especially over the hectic festive period where he knows we'll have to dig in further to ensure we keep taking points and keep winning games, but he's very confident that if we keep our feet on the ground we will do just that.
