'If It's Football, It's Vital'

It's About Results But We'll Play Better

Nigel Pearson was delighted to see us take all three points from the Derby encounter today, but admitted we will certainly play better than that and there are a lot of improvements for us to make.

Speaking to the Official Site following the 1-0 victory away from home, the manager explained.

'It's a good three points and I'm very pleased to have them. I suppose it's slightly different to this time last year when we weren't getting the results that our performances warranted. Today we defended well, but we've got to be better than that. We were a bit wasteful and I didn't think we worked hard enough at times either.'

Pearson is pretty honest is his assessment, but he says himself he won't be too downbeat as to have a good season you need to win ugly having played badly and it's something we didn't do last season, so he's going to take the positives, not be negative, but also make sure we learn the lessons as well.

'It's about results and we got one today.'
