Pearson Bouyed Ahead Of The Season

Nigel Pearson has said he's been delighted with the fitness levels of the players after they returned to pre season training, and he's really looking for us to kick on this season.

Speaking to lcfc.com after the first week of having the players back, Pearson said the professional way in which the players had approached their time off has given us a headstart on the work he had planned.

'Two things you look for when the players come back into training is their physical and mental shape. They look in really good condition and I've been really pleased with their application.'

Pearson said it was a shortish pre season for the club this year, but with the players sticking well to their summer programmes, he believes we are a week ahead of where he expected us to be, even at this early stage.

'Last season was a pretty low experience, but you've got to be able to manage that and bounce back pretty quickly and I think we will manage that.'
