Pearson Almost Lost For Words

Pearson Almost Lost For Words

Can't put this off anymore, Nigel Pearson has said his emotions, following the dramatic 3-1 loss to Watford in the Play Off Semi Final, were difficult to put into words.

Speaking to lcfc.com following Sunday's game, the gaffer said.

'It's a cruel game. It's very difficult to put into words at the moment how the players, staff and supporters are feeling. It's a very cruel way to finish the game, from having the opportunity of winning to going out within a few seconds. That I think, is an illustration of how tough it is to be successful.'

Bitter pill to swallow on the penalty, and in recent history at least, I'm not so sure the Foxes have had a more costly moment in a game.

Pearson did however admit that on balance Watford were the better side on the day, so credit where it's due, we fumbled over the season after being perfectly placed for an automatic promotion run, and then we had some luck on the final day to have a Play Off shot and we have done ourselves proud, but lost at the first hurdle to the better team really.

What Leicester have to do, despite this now being a failure of a season following the boards' stated aims, is not throw the baby out with the bathwater.

We all know what went wrong this season, we shouldn't be relying on loan players to play such an important part in the first team, so give Pearson his contract and let him work on improvement and tweaing based on his own thoughts after watching the lads play and train this season, so we can increases our chance of success next campaign.
