Chris Wood had the dream start to his Leicester career and he's described it as his best debut ever...you can see why!
Speaking to lcfc.com after our 6-1 drubbing of Huddersfield, our new striker said.
'I think it was the best debut I've had. It's always nice to get on the scoresheet, but more important that we got the three points. I've come here to score goals, I've done that and hopefully I can carry on.'
Wood was obviously in demand due to his goalscoring exploits whilst on loan from West Bromich to Birmingham and Millwall, so I doubt few fans didn't think he'd make his mark with us, but bagging a brace on his debut was something I didn't expect.
Really does look like we've got a gem on our hands, and to be honest he could well be the missing piece for Pearson this season.
'When I spoke to the manager, he told me about the club's ambition to get to the Premier League this year and that's where I want to play. I think I've proved myself in the Championship and I wanted to come here, kick on at another level and hopefully work our way into the Premier League.'
Full steam ahead again now then. With Wood's eye for a goal I'm sure he'll make the difference going forward to those games that we seem to end with a draw and not all three points.
