'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Derby - Our Best Yet

Nigel Pearson has described how we started against Derby last weekend as being the best football we have played all season.

Thankfully for us, the result bore that out!

Speaking to lcfc.com Pearson explained.

'We made an outstanding start to the game and for us to get two goals from that period was richly deserved. It was the best football we have played this season. From that period until the end of the first half was a good illustration of how tough this league is. I don't think we played particularly badly after that, Derby just controlled possession a little bit better and scored. I was a bit disappointed to only be one ahead at half time, but I thought we kept our composure well in the second half and, even though they asked a few more questions of us, we defended well as a team. We were disciplined, but dangerous on the counter attack.'

Pearson also added that over the last few weeks he has been pleased to see our delivery improve, especially from set pieces, so he did think it was only a matter of time before we capitalised on corners for example as Whitbread did, but he was also pleased to see the goals spread amongst the team aswell so that we aren't relying on only a few players to make the difference in the box.
