'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pearson Still Wants More

A winning run of five games on the bounce, the maintaining of our 100% record at home and Nigel Pearson is not only remaining grounded but he expects more to come from us.

Speaking to Sky Sports following the game, Pearson said he didn't feel the performance was up to our normal standards, but we took the opportunities as they arose.

'Obviously it's very pleasing to be in the position we are in but we have to keep things in perspective. We have had to work very hard to get into this situation and our staff and players can take great credit for that. It was not one of our most sparkling displays but we had some good spells and created chances. I'd say it was an efficient performance. But I think there is more to come from us, we have got a young and exciting side.'

Pearson adds that it's the perfect way to enter the international break now as it gives the players the opportunity to refresh themselves for the battles ahead. Clearly now we are top 2, that's where Pearson will want us to stay but there's a long hard season still ahead of us.
