Town To Return For Beckford?

Huddersfield Town's CEO Nigel Cribbens has confirmed that they were in for Jermaine Beckford on deadline day before Leicester pulled the plug, but they may return.

Speaking to the Huddersfield Daily Examiner, their CEO said.

'We spent a lot of last Thursday and all of Friday negotiating with Leicester and we moved close to a deal, agreeing terms for a season long loan. Jermaine travelled to Huddersfield to sign the paperwork and once it got past 10pm we started filling it in. We signed, Jermaine signed and then Leicester decided they didn't want to do the deal. Maybe it will come back in the loan window, I don't know at this stage.'

As said previously, I know we have options up front but there are goals in Beckford and he's not somebody we should be looking to let leave. If he's down the pecking order at the moment as Pearson wants to try different things, then maybe a short term loan spell to keep him fit, but I don't see any sense in a season long loan spell.
