'If It's Football, It's Vital'

We Must Hit The Ground Running

Craig Shakespeare has said that the Leicester squad must prepare correctly in pre season so we can hit the ground running when the season opens.

Speaking to lcfc.com as the fixtures were announced today, the assistant boss said.

'You don't want to analyse it too deeply, but you have to make sure you're ready. You need to make sure you get your pre season work right, that your fitness is right and everybody is ready to hit the ground running. Some might consider it a tough start, some may say it's better to play a few of the more fancied teams earlier when they haven't had a chance to pick up much form. However they come out, you have to make sure you're ready.'

With us opening our season at home for the first time since 2009, Shakespeare believes the team will be boosted by the home support.

'It's good for the home supporters to have the chance to get behind us straight away. The support last season was tremendous and we'll need that back for the new season.'
