Peltier On Disappointing Season

Lee Peltier has admitted that Leicester's failure to secure promotion has been a massive disappointment, but they are still hoping to end the season with a smile.

Speaking to lcfc.com Peltier said the squad's main aim now was to finish strongly so we can take confidence through to next term.

'We're obviously disappointed we didn't get promoted or make the play offs. It's been a tough season and it's important we start looking towards next season, rebuilding and making another go of it but you can't go into the final games thinking there's nothing on it. It's important the lads keep pushing right until the end.'

Everybody knows what the problem was this season, consistency, and on that subject Pelts adds.

'We didn't get the consistency to go on a run and we didn't win three straight games in the league all season. The quality is there for everyone to see, but bringing everyone together and getting it to click is a long process and it's taken longer than most expected. I'm sure we'll come back stronger next season.'

I looked with interest at what you seemed to be doing under Sven and the spending given the troubles Villa had but putting their interests in one bag...do you think you'll be so gung ho next season or will your owners have learnt £ don't equal success?

I can't see us spending the same. Pearson will tweak and we'll see some leave who haven't lived up to expectations but our board I think did think money equally success but they gave no time to a side gelling and coming together. Harsh lesson maybe this season, we'll get it right next one. Looks like WBA have already stuffed you, we'll plan on doing the same!
