'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pearson Demands Positive Finish

The draw against Burnley was a bitter pill to swallow as it put paid to our hopes of sneaking a play off position, but Nigel Pearson is looking forward and wants us to finish strongly.

Speaking to lcfc.com Pearson said he wanted the squad to finish as strongly as possible now to help us prepare for next season's promotion push, even though Pearson doesn't want to talk about next season yet.

'We've got two games left, we need to win those and finish the season as well as we can. We've got time to look at things, but we want to finish the season as strongly as we can with two good performances.'

Discussing the season as a whole, Pearson knows we let ourselves down with our lack of consistency.

'We haven't been consistent enough, back to back wins on two occasions was not going to be enough. We were trying to win the game and it's a frustrating night for everyone because the fans want to see us scoring goals but some nights it doesn't go for you.'

Next season will be interesting, but in many ways it was the influx of new players and the time they needed to gel that led us to struggle in the early part of the season, so we'll have to be mindful of wholescale changes and putting ourselves back at square one.
