Cup Is No Distraction

Nigel Pearson doesn't believe the cup will be a distraction for the players, if anything it's another chance to work on our consistency and put in a good performance.

Speaking to lcfc.com the manager dismissed suggestions that the cup game would simply be a distraction and that it would aide the club by losing the game so we could focus on the league.

'We've had to win two games to get to this stage, so it's certainly not a distraction, it's an opportunity to get Tuesday's defeat out of our systems. I want us to go out and be in the same form in every game, unfortunately, the lack of consistency continues to be our achilles heel. I'm looking for a response.'

Pearson also says he has an idea as to why we are so inconsistent but even if he's right, there is no short term fix for the problem, the the players, as ever, will continue to work on improving themselves.
