'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pearson Hails Fans

Nigel Pearson has paid tribute to the 8000 fans who travelled to the City Ground for the Forest match.

Speaking to lcfc.com following the game, Pearson said he was slightly disappointed not to win the game, especially given the fans were in such good voice.

'The supporters were tremendous, they were first class and the way they have backed us is pretty special. We felt that we owed it to them to give our all but it was clear to see what it meant to them. It was disappointing to start in a sluggish manner, but I was pleased with the way the players responded and came fighting back.'

Taking the positives, Pearson added.

'I would rather be stood here discussing a replay at home, than explaining why we have been knocked out of the cup.'
