Tunchev & St.Ledger In Frame

Tunchev & St.Ledger In Frame

Craig Shakespeare has said that Sean St.Ledger will have to impress over Aleksandar Tunchev if he wants to replace Matt Mills in defence.

Speaking to lcfc.com the assistant manager said that St.Ledger was a good replacement, but that nobodies position was guaranteed unless they perform and with Tunchev back in contention following injury and after impressing whilst on loan at Palace, Sean can't take the position as his own without working for it.

'We are missing Matt now for a couple of games but that means there is an opportunity for someone else. Sean is a good replacement, but is not guaranteed a place. We have Tunchev as well who is fit. No one is guaranteed his place and we will weigh up the options before Saturday.'

You'd have to think this time round maybe Tunchev will be favoured given he was a Pearson signing, but St.Ledger will be determined to get games and impress following the Republic of Ireland's progression. He won't want to miss out on that by hardly playing for us.
