Pearson To Take His Time Assessing The Squad

Nigel Pearson has said he will take his time assessing the squad before deciding what he will or won't do in the January transfer window.

Speaking to the Leicester Mercury following the start of rumours and speculation about potential targets, Pearson said he was looking for some balance in the team so even more signings are at the back of his mind for the moment in time.

'If we can address the balance of the squad, we will do that. People are already asking how much money is available, what we will do is work out the best way of achieving the goals we have set. That is to get the balance right.'

In terms of actually assessing the squad, he adds.

'I need more time to assess not just the quality of the players but the character and chemistry within the squad, because that is as important as anything else.'

To be honest the quality within the squad should be good enough when you look at the names we have within the playing staff. It's just about getting it to click properly and Palace was the perfect start for that.
