The Perfect Start For Pearson

The Perfect Start For Pearson

Today's 3-0 victory against Crystal Palace was the perfect start for second time gaffer Nigel Pearson.

Speaking to lcfc.com following the game Pearson was delighted with our second half showing, but he also didn't think we were too bad in the first half either.

'Look, they are a good side and they are very difficult to beat so this result should be placed into context. I don't wish to be negative or critical of what has gone before, but we have been too inconsistent this season and, to be honest, if we weren't then I wouldn't have been given this opportunity.'

Pearson was most pleased about seeing what he called a performance full of effort and quality, as he believes it was the perfect response from the team to his first game in charge - 'it was a superb team effort'.

It might be stating the obvious somewhat, but Pearson adds.

'We must now focus towards the next game and trying to continue to climb the league table. We are very happy to be back here, but we are under no illusions about the task ahead.'

Great start, and now we push on again hopefully in the next game and welcome another 3 points.
