Pearson's Clean Slate For Players

New manager Nigel Pearson has thrown the door wide open for all players to work their way into his new starting XI.

Speaking to lcfc.com ahead of the Palace game at the weekend Pearson said that all of the players have to earn their starting positions and he denied that he would naturally favour the players who are still at the club from his first spell in charge.

'People have a clean slate and the onus is very much on the players to be picked for the side. There are players that will know me and know what to expect, but those that don't will perhaps be unsure, what they need to be assured of is that they will be treated fairly, and if they perform well, they will retain their places.'
