'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Little Backs Clark For Hotseat

Former Fox Brian Little has said the club shouldn't be afraid to take a punt on new bookies favourite Lee Clark.

With Martin O'Neill ruling himself out, the Huddersfield boss has moved into prime place with bet365, despite him having no Championship experience.

Little doesn't believe that his lack of experience is a problem however.

Speaking to the Leicester Mercury Little said that Clark's lack of experience shouldn't really count against him if the board have included him on their shortlist.

'He seems to have done a terrific job at Huddersfield, if that's the sort of person they are chasing, that's a pretty good choice. I was a workaholic and you felt as though you could knock down any wall in front of you, and I'd imagine, looking at the way Huddersfield have developed over the last year or two, that Lee has that about him.'

The fact Clark is favourite at this stage surely rules him out of the running. The bookies never get it right this early! It could also be a step too far for a manager of his experience. He seems to be doing good things for Huddersfield, but probably needs a few more years before making the jump to a club where anything but promotion will get you the sack.
