'If It's Football, It's Vital'
Sven Confirms Santa Cruz Knockback
Sven-Goran Eriksson has admitted that he tried to sign Roque Santa Cruz last January, but the player wasn't interested and he doesn't believe that will have changed.
Speaking to the Leicester Mercury Eriksson said.
'The truth is I spoke to his agent in January and he didn't want to come. I have done it again and I doubt that he wants to come. I think he has other plans in England.'
Until the agent answers I suppose it remains possible, but you have to think it's very unlikely. Having already been turned down once I doubt it was more than a 'feeler' from Sven anyway.
In other striker news, Everton manager David Moyes confirmed that we had made an offer for Jermaine Beckford as Sven continues trying to strengthen the squad if he can.
'Leicester made an offer of £2m. This wasn't anywhere close to our valuation.'
