Clean Sheet Start Pleases Sven

Clean Sheet Start Pleases Sven

Sven-Goran Eriksson was delighted to see the Foxes open our league campaign by keeping a clean sheet. I guess the single goal winner also helped!

Speaking to lcfc.com following the game, the manager said.

'We have spoken all pre season about defending being an art and that we couldn't go on like last season. It became a difficult game because when we went down to 10 men I wanted us to keep the ball in their half of the pitch. The most important thing was that we defended well.'

The match saw the proper debut, and debut goal for right back Lee Peltier but it wasn't all good news for the player as he was replaced after 60 minutes with a groin injury and Sven now expects him to miss our Carling Cup match.

'The physio thought one to two weeks out, which isn't good.'

Sven's final words were saved for the travelling Foxes.

'Thank you to all of them. 6000 helped us today and they were fantastic.'

That's the start of the season we wanted, 3 points.
