'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Chairman's Message To Fans

Below are extracts from Vichai Raksriaksorn's pre Coventry kick off message to the fans.

'Our target remains the same, to reach the Premier League. However, the difference this season is that we will focus upon everything at the club, not just the players.'

Vichai goes on to talk about the infrastructure investment that has taken place over the summer, although I agree given the players signed and the money spent so far, saying we won't just focus on players does seem a little strange.

Vichai adds.

'On the field, I believe in the players that already exist at the club and have seen their confidence rise since new players have been acquired. Our world class manager is assembling a strong squad, we have of course, brought those players so that we can reach the Premier League.'

It's definitely a strong statement of intent from the Chairman. There's no room for doubt in his aims for the club here.

Failure to reach promotion, by whichever means we can, this season - is a failure.

Now I'm not sure I buy into it's a case of **** or bust this year. The simple fact almost everyone is focused on promotion means I shy away from it to a degree because the cynic in me says we are setting ourselves up for a fall.

It has to be the aim, and it should be the aim but I'd hate to think we would blow the development we've seen 'should' promotion not happen this season.

But then again, far be it from me to disagree with our Chairman, manager and players!

Vichai ends his statement to the fans by answering the question, why has he invested so much in us.

He answers simply.

'Why have I invested so much into Leicester City. It's an easy answer. I am doing this because of the response I have seen from the supporters. When I see the faces of our supporters I see them happy. The fans have given me greater confidence and faith and I aim to repay that with success.'
