A Vital Liverpool Take On Paul Konchesky

With massive thanks to Chubby from Vital Liverpool, no great loss on his departure, but they wish him well.

-----

1 - Are Liverpool fans disappointed to see Paul Konchesky move on, I'm guessing not to be honest, but do you think most fans will wish him the best for the future?

Disappointed? If you can honestly show me a Reds supporter disappointed that Paul has gone I'd be surprised. I can't, of course, speak for the wider population of Reds out there but I wished him well and would think others would too.

2 - What type of defender can we expect and why don't you think it worked out for him at Anfield?

He did well at Fulham and I'm sure he'll do well with Leicester as he'll be a good, solid, attack minded defender for you but he was one of those players that just wasn't meant to be at a certain club, which is what happened with Liverpool.

When his mother is banging on about how bad Merseyside is, how they can't understand anyone and how much they dislike the area it hardly helps either does it!

3 - Sven has described him as being a 'top class addition to our squad'. Would you agree with that and do you think his time with you was the aberation in his career or was he too highly regarded at Fulham?

I've already said that I think he'll do well for Leicester, as I believe he will, he should do well at higher end Championship level.

In my honest opinion he was too highly regarded by Roy Hodgson and the step up too great.

4 - If the fee of £1.5m is accurate, do you think it's fair fee for the player?

Not many clubs were beating down our door for him so to get £1.5m, if it's accurate, isn't too bad.

Getting him off our wage bill is the best thing as he was on good money. These wages most likely didn't appeal to many other clubs so that's why he's not joined anyone else however Leicester aren't short of money are they.

With thanks to Chubby, and best of luck next season!
