Foxes Rename Stadium

Leicester City have renamed the Walkers Stadium to the King Power Stadium to reflect further commitments from the King Power group.

For those old enough it was arkward enough trying not to call the new stadium Filbert Street through simple force of habit, with a fair few fans still calling the stadium Filbert Way despite the Walkers talking over for me at least.

It's certainly going to take a while before fans refer to it by it's new commercial name, if they ever do - so forgive me for the many errors I may make - it could easily always remain the Walkers!

Speaking to lcfc.com new chief exec Susan Whelan said of the deal.

'The announcement of King Power's further support is tremendous news and once again underlines the commitment the owners have made.'

Importantly, as Walkers (the company, not the stadium) will celebrate 25 years of association with the club next year, Walkers will become the club's Legacy Partner from this season.

Vice Chairman Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn said of the continuing support from Walkers.

'We are delighted to retain our valued partnership with Walkers, whose support has been invaluable to the Club and the local community for nearly 25 years.'

As Legacy Partners Walkers will retain a strong presence around the ground including the branding of the stadium's 550 seat conference and hospitality facility which will now be known as 'The Walkers Hall'.
