Foxes To Offer Woodgate A Lifeline?

It's been reported that Sven-Goran Eriksson will offer England oldie Jonathan Woodgate a fresh start at the Foxes.

Woodgate's contract at Spurs has expired and it's believed he will be moving to Leeds on a free transfer, but the rumour mill has it that we will hijack the move and give him a shot at promotion with us.

If he could remain fit he would certainly be an asset, but is it worth the risk?

If? And its a very big IF, you can get him playing, he would be a fantastic player and at 31 and with barely over 250 games in his career he is hardly past it in terms of age and over use, but the fact he has only played three and a bit, games in two years, is worrying enough for me to feel he will never recover long enough to make him a viable player, though I honestly hope I am wrong

He seems to have been around forever yet really should only just be entering the prime of his career. Seriously blighted by injuries, but he would be a huge asset for us in terms of the experience he could bring to the pitch and dressing room if we could keep him fit. But like you, I'm not sure he's going to remain fit enough sadly. A pay as you play deal would make the most sense and if interested, maybe help start him down the coaching route with the youngsters possibly?
