Schmeichel Relishing Promotion Pressure

Kasper Schmeichel has said he is relishing the pressure that will come from Leicester City being considered favourites for promotion.

Speaking to the Leicester Mercury Schmeichel said that everybody knew the pressure would be on, but that Sven had been signing players who would clearly improve the team and give us the best possible shot at reaching our aim.

'The pressure is on, of course it is. I know the ambition of the club and the ambitions are very high. And why not? You have to aim big. I have seen some of the signings, I saw Danns and played against him and he was definitely Palace's stand out player. The players who are already here, we have some great quality. For us to get promotion we must be on top of our game, every single game. There are no givens in this league.'

How we handle that pressure, especially during the times when we will have hiccups, will be interesting to watch. The quality is obviously there or arriving, the only real question in our push for promotion is will the team remain mentally strong enough over the course of the whole season.
