Berner pens new deal
Leicester left-back Bruno Berner has signed a one-year contract extension at the Walkers Stadum.
Berner had previous declared his will to leave the club as a result of his lack of first team football, but injury to Greg Cunningham has persuaded the Swiss defender to stay.
"It is more a case of I have to move rather than I want to move and end this lovely chapter at Leicester City," Berner said at the time.
Manager Sven-Goran Eriksson had reiterated his desires to hang onto Berner, who was one of the club's most consistent performers in their successful play-off season last year.
The defender himself revealed that a number of Championship clubs were chasing his signature, but a new run back in the first team has persuaded him to stay put with the Foxes.
Berner is a popular favourite among the Blue Army for his wholehearted approach in a City shirt, and the contract extension is sure to please Foxes fans who had feared an early exit for the former Blackburn man.
