Kirkland loan back on
Kris Kirkland's loan deal to Leicester looks to be back on after the goalkeeper recovered from a back spasm.
The Wigan goalkeeper joined the Foxes on a one-month deal just under two weeks ago, but was forced into a return just days later following the injury.
But the former-England goalkeeper should return to the Walkers Stadium shortly, much to the relief of Kirkland himself.
"I think the loan was going to be cancelled because it looked as though I'd be out for a couple of weeks," he said.
"But thank goodness that is no longer the case, and hopefully I can get down there later this week, prove my fitness to everyone and get out there on the pitch."
Leicester manager Sven-Goran Eriksson continued to air caution over the move, however, insisting that another week on the training pitch would determine the goalkeeper's fitness.
"I spoke to him the other day and our physio has spoken to their physio, and he is supposed to return to training maybe by the end of the week, so he will not be available for Saturday," the City chief said.
"He needs at least one week of training to see how it is. There are still talks about the loan but, if he got fit, he would be available."
