With the signing of Andy Johnson Leicester fans will be hoping they have signed a direct replacement for Joey Gudjonsson who was Leicester`s outstanding player last year.
Although Leicester have James Wesolowski who can play the defensive midfield role, some fans are worried about his lack of experience and whether his leg will hold up after breaking it in two separate occasions last season.
Therefore they will be happy to see that Rob Kelly has gone out and signed an experience defensive midfielder who can take some of the burden off Wesolowski shoulders.
Although Leicester fans will have some idea of what type of player they have signed, they might like to know what fans of his previous club felt about him. Due to this we asked the editor of Vital WBA to see what he thought about Andy Johnson.
What are Andy Johnson`s strengths?
Johnson will run his socks off and is a good addition at the Championship level. He is a neat passer of the ball and if you are a looking for a strong and reliable ball winner in the middle of the park you have signed a good player.
What would you say are Johnson`s main weaknesses?
Unfortunately he has no pace and his shooting is pretty woeful. He has never scored that many goals but that is not his game, he is a ball winner not a goal scorer.
Are you upset to lose the player?
He hasn't figured much during the last two seasons so his time was up. AJ has been a great servant to the club and I wish him all the best in the future. I will be sad to see him leave The Hawthorns.
When we play you in the league will you boo the player?
Not a chance, AJ has left us with some great memories especially one of the first goals he scored for the club in out victory over the Blues (Birmingham City) in the first season we won promotion. He will get a standing ovation from me.
Good luck AJ
