Forest keen on Fryatt

Nottingham Forest could make a swoop for striker Matty Fryatt on loan deadline day, according to reports.

Ian Stringer, football correspondent at Radio Leicester, revealed earlier that seven clubs were on the trail of the out-of-favour forward including East Midlands rivals Forest.

Fryatt has seen first-team opportunities limited this campaign under both Paulo Sousa and Sven-Goran Eriksson, and now looks set to head out the exit on Thursday.

Eriksson's capture of West Brom striker Roman Bednar earlier today looks to have put the final nail in Fryatt's coffin for the season, with a hive of interest set to gather in the January transfer window.

Leicester are reluctant to allow the 24-year-old to quit on a permanent basis, but Fryatt would rather have his future settled that way according to Stringer.

A host of Championship clubs look keen to secure the services of the club favourite, including division rivals Swansea and Reading.

Hull City chief Nigel Pearson was thought to be an interested party having managed the striker during his days at the club, but those reports appear to be wide of the mark.

"Hull City chief Nigel Pearson was thought to be an interested party having managed the striker during his days at the club, but those reports appear to be wide of the mark." - What makes you say that? Pearson is still hoping to bring him in on loan today, as far we know.
